Lore

Terms of Service

Last updated September 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Joe Lifrieri ("we", "us"), who runs Lore. By joining the waitlist or using www.lore.systems, docs.lore.systems or the Lore app, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Lore is in beta

Lore is in private beta. Features will change, things will break, and we may pause or end the beta at any time. Don't rely on Lore as the only copy of anything you can't afford to lose. We work hard to protect campaign data, but we can't promise it will never be lost.

Your account

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age in your country if higher, to create an account. Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at joe@lore.systems if you think someone else has used it.

Your content

You own what you create in Lore: your characters, notes, maps and stories. To run Lore, you give us permission to store, copy, sync and display your content to the members of the campaigns you put it in. That permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies other members keep, and backups that are deleted on their normal schedule.

Everything you add to a campaign reaches every member of it, including content that is hidden on screen. Only invite people you trust.

Campaign Owners decide who can join their campaign and can remove players.

Using Lore fairly

Don't use Lore to:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Ending your use

You can stop using Lore at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing joe@lore.systems. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we end the beta, and we'll try to give you notice first.

No warranty

Lore is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise Lore will be available, error-free or secure at all times.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or content. Our total liability to you for any claim about Lore is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which during the free beta is nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Lore grows. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you by email or in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using Lore after that, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
